Sales

Data Direct will sell and service products in the United States and Canada. We do accept orders from affiliated offices of companies in the United States and Canada however we do not accept orders from companies based outside of the United States or Canada.

 

Payment

Data Direct offers four (4) methods of payment:

1. Pre-payment with company or personal check. Checks must clear before we can ship, this will delay your shipment.

2. Credit Cards - We accept Visa,MasterCard and American Express.

Note: All credit card orders must be delivered to (i.e. "Ship to) the cardholder's card billing address on the card account. Other "ship to" addresses will be accepted only if the address has been provided to the card company and is on file with the card company. See Data Direct's Credit Card Authorization Form.

3. Wire Transfer to Data Direct, Inc. (prior to shipment from Data Direct, Inc.) See Data Direct's Wire Routing Information.

4. Corporate Purchase Orders; requires prior processing of Data Direct credit application and successful credit approval by Data Direct. See Data Direct's Credit Application.

Shipping & Handling

Data Direct utilizes all major carriers including UPS and Federal Express. Unless specified by the customer, Data Direct reserves the right to select the carrier. Delivery time and charges are based upon the carrier's rates at the time of shipment. Data Direct requires that all orders be shipped with freight insurance.(prepay & bill)

All orders are shipped F.O.B./Data Direct Facility. Product orders are complete upon pick-up by the carrier. In cases where there is an insurance claim, Data Direct will work with the carrier to resolve the problem.

In most cases, orders placed prior to 3:00PM E.S.T.( Monday through Friday) will be shipped the same day. Should product be back-ordered, Data Direct Customer Service will make a best effort to notify the customer. Data Direct will ship partial orders unless partials are not acceptable to the customer.

With prior notification, Data Direct will make every effort to accommodate special shipping instructions. Please specify your requirements to your Data Direct sales representative at the time of order.

 

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

Data Direct warrants products to be free from defects in material and workmanship at the time of delivery. The Buyer's exclusive remedy will be that Data Direct will repair or replace the defective subject product(s) as directed by the responsible Sales Representative or Customer Service Representative within the specific warranty period after delivery.

WEBSHOP RETURN AND EXCHANGE POLICY

Any Webshop returns are subject to prior approval by Data Direct and will incur a restocking fee of up to 25% of the cost of the returned item(s) as determined by Data Direct. Returns without an appropriate Return Merchandise Authorization from Data Direct will be refused and no credit will be given to buyer for unauthorized returns. Credit is contingent on receipt of goods in resalable condition as determined at the sole discretion of Data Direct, Inc.

REQUESTING A RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION

Please call the Data Direct at 1-800-870-3282 to request a Return Merchandise Authorization and instructions.

RETURNING ITEMS YOU DIDN’T ORDER

If the return is a result of our error, Data Direct will provide you a return shipping label. Items should be returned in their original, unopened product packaging. Please call the Data Direct at 1-800-870-3282 to request a Return for Credit.

 

In the case of a sales error, a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number must be requested through Customer Service within 30 days of the invoice date.

In the case of customer error, Data Direct reserves the right to charge up to 25% restocking fee. A return authorization must be requested within 30 days of the invoice date. Returns must be in the original packaging and factory sealed where applicable. If the product is not received in salable condition, it will be returned to the customer. Special order items are not returnable.

The Buyer immediately upon receipt shall examine each shipment, and any claim for shortage or any other cause must be reported to Data Direct within 7 days after such receipt.

It is the responsibility of the customer to purchase insurance for returned items. Loss or damage in shipments to Data Direct will be the customer's responsibility. At no time will a return be accepted without a Data Direct issued Return Materials Authorization (RMA) Number.

Prior to contacting Data Direct for a Return Materials Authorization Number (RMA#), please download and read the Data Direct RMA Policy.. Data Direct will require a signed copy of this document emailed to info@datadirectinc.com. Data Direct will then issue the RMA#. RMAs will expire thirty (30) days after issue. All replacements will be shipped upon receipt of the original shipment back to Data Direct, Inc.

All returns must be sent freight pre-paid. Freight will only be credited for Data Direct's errors. Data Direct will not be liable for incidental or consequential damages.

Inkjet Cartridges are not returnable. If you have a Primera cartridge you feel is defective, contact Primera’s Technical Support Department at 763-475-6669 or email support@primera.com. They handle all defective cartridge inquiries directly.

 

Sales Tax

Data Direct will charge required local, county and state taxes on orders delivered to Massachusetts unless proper tax-exempt forms have been submitted to Data Direct, Inc. prior to the sale.

 

Sales to Manufacturers

If you are a manufacturer and the products purchased will be used directly and exclusively in the manufacture, processing or conversion of tangible personal property to be sold, including the publishing of a newspaper or the operation of commercial radio broadcasting or television transmission, are exempt in many cases. Data Direct must receive an Exempt Use Certificate (Form ST-12) prior to the sale.

 

Resales

If you are a buyer intending to resell the item or telecommunications services in the regular course of business, then you are exempt. In these cases, Data Direct must receive and retain a Sales Tax Resale Certificate (Form ST-4) prior to the sale. The ST-4 will be the only proof that the sale(s) were exempt for the reasons stated on the certificate.

 

Sales for out-of-state delivery

Sales where the buyer accepts title to and possession of an item outside Massachusetts generally are exempt. Similarly, if Data Direct is obligated to deliver to an out-of-state purchaser's address or to an interstate common carrier for such a delivery, the sale is not taxable in Massachusetts.
